The problem

One mis-racked batch costs more than a year of software.

Most finishing shops still run on laminated paper sheets, sticky notes, and "ask the guy who's been here 20 years." That works until he's on vacation, or the new hire hangs a bracket sideways, or someone forgets to mask the threads.

— 01
Tribal knowledge walks out the door
Every retirement, every no-show, every new hire is a training exercise. The racking method for a part lives in one operator's head.
— 02
Paper sheets are always out of date
Revisions change. Notes get scribbled in the margins. The binder at the ecoat line doesn't match the one at powder. Nobody knows which one is right.
— 03
The ERP wasn't built for the floor
Your legacy ERP schedules and tracks. It doesn't tell your operator how to hang the part or which face to mask.
What RackingView does

The visual layer your line has been missing.

Every part gets a card. Every card shows racking photos, quality alerts, and packing specs. Operators scan the QR on your existing router — the right card appears on the right station.

Scan and go

QR code on your Metfin router points to the part. Operator scans it at their station and sees exactly how to rack it — for their line, right now. No hunting through binders.

One part, every process

E-coat setup for the e-coat line. Powder setup for powder. Different notes, different alerts, different quantities per rack. The station only sees what's relevant to it.

Catch problems on the floor

Operators flag issues from their station with one tap. Photo, category, note — straight to the admin inbox. Turn a one-time flag into a permanent quality alert with one click.

Setup

Live on your line by the end of the week.

No ERP replacement. No consultants. No 6-month implementation. Just three real steps.

Day 1

Import your parts

Export your part list from whatever ERP you use. Drop it into RackingView's Excel template. Upload it. All your part numbers, descriptions and customers land in the system in seconds.

Day 2

Add photos and notes

Take photos of parts on the rack for each process. Type in the racking method and any quality gotchas. Bulk-upload a folder of photos named by part number — RackingView matches them automatically.

Day 3

Print QR codes on routers

Most ERP router templates already print QR codes. Point one at the part number field. Operator scans it at the line — the right racking card appears. Done. Nothing else changes on your floor.

FAQ

The questions shop owners actually ask.

Do we have to replace our ERP?
No. RackingView sits alongside whatever ERP you already run. Your ERP still handles scheduling, quoting and shipping. RackingView just handles the visual instructions on the floor.
Our routers already print QR codes. Does that matter?
That's actually perfect. Most modern ERPs can print a QR that encodes any field. Point it at the part number and RackingView reads it. If your template needs updating, your IT person can do it in an afternoon.
How does this handle ITAR / defense customers?
Enterprise tier can be hosted on AWS GovCloud for shops handling defense-related parts. Your data stays in a US-controlled, FedRAMP High environment. Ask us — it's a conversation, not a checkbox.
What if we're a smaller shop with 10 people?
You're exactly who this is built for. Big finishing ERPs cost $60-100K and take 8 months to implement. RackingView is $299/month and live in a week. No sales cycle, no consultants, no committee approval.
Do we need Wi-Fi on the floor?
Yes — RackingView runs in a browser on each station computer. If your line computers can browse the internet, you're good. Most shops already have this in place.
Can we try it before we pay?
Yes. Free 30-day trial, no credit card. Import your parts, take a few photos, run it on one station. If it saves you one mis-racked batch you'll know it's worth it.
